2019 Road Construction Season

Public Works crew and Township contractors have been busy getting Walkers Drive (Thames Road to Dundonald Road) prepped for resurfacing. The end of this road construction project is coming soon and estimated to be completed middle of September permitting. Finished grade gravel will be applied followed by reclaimed asphalt. A final sealant of stone chip and tar will then be applied.

There will be short term lane closures at different times and locations. Signage will direct traffic and all residents will have access to their property. Please be vigilant of men working while driving in this area.

Most activities will be completed by the end of July, however the road has to sit to cure for the month of August. There will be bumps at laneways during this time until the sealant coat can be applied in September with final touch up on laneways. Top soil and seeding will take place in October. In 2020 this section of Walkers Drive will be sprayed for weeds to help the grass take hold.

Thank you to all the residents and motorists for your patience while Public Works crew and contractors work long hours getting this roadway ready for resurfacing.

Please be advised that the Highway 402 Structural Rehabilitation Construction on Contracts 2017-3028 and 2017-3030 is scheduled to resume at the end of March, location of work and dates detailed below:

June 28, 2018 - Township of Adelaide Metcalfe Logo

Adelaide Metcalfe – Following a Township wide survey conducted in 2017, the Council of the Township of Adelaide Metcalfe has adopted a new logo. The survey results indicated that many residents favoured a change to a more modern identity for the Township.
"The progressive decision by Council to modernize our Township image is vital," says Mayor Smith, "updating the Township logo is the first step in the branding strategy of the Strategic Plan".
The original Township crest was designed in 2001 as part of the amalgamation of the former Townships of Adelaide and Metcalfe. The new logo was created as a tribute to elements of the original crest with emphasis on the strength of the unified Adelaide Metcalfe.
Council will roll out the new logo this summer. The $30,000 donation received through the ‘Mar for Mayors’ program will be used to update the welcome signs into the Township and for the installation of community signs such as Buttery Creek and Kerwood.
