The Township of Adelaide Metcalfe is committed to keeping residents informed and engaged regarding the potential development of a wind turbine project proposed by Venfor Inc. As part of Ontario's broader effort to expand renewable energy generation through the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) procurement process, the Township is currently reviewing the possibility of becoming a willing host community for this type of green energy infrastructure.
Please see attached documents and presentations which been provided with Council and the public to date. These resources are intended to help
residents understand the project scope, technical considerations, land use implications, and the municipal decision-making process. Topics include the IESO’s Long-Term 2 (LT2) procurement framework, proposed community benefit and road use agreements, agricultural impact assessments, and more.
The Township encourages all residents to review the information below and participate in the ongoing dialogue. Community feedback will be a critical component of Council’s deliberation on whether to support the project through a Municipal Support Resolution.

Next Steps:
The next step in the process will be a community engagement session organized by Venfor Inc. This session will provide an opportunity for residents to learn more about the proposed project, ask questions, and provide feedback. Details regarding the date, time, and location of the session will be posted once they are finalized. Following the engagement session, municipal staff will compile and present the community feedback to Council as part of their request for a Municipal Support Resolution. This resolution is a requirement of the Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) procurement process and is necessary for the project to move forward.
